Restaurant India News: Vikram Kamats Partners With HPCL to Expand Highway Dining

Vikram Kamats Hospitality Limited has partnered with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) to open South Indian food outlets at selected HPCL petrol pumps across India.

The tie-up aims to offer travellers a convenient “food and fuel” experience, where they can refuel their vehicles and enjoy hygienic meals and clean facilities at the same stop. Vikram Kamats will set up dine-in as well as takeaway formats designed for both highway travellers and urban commuters. The agreement was signed by Murali Krishna V. Vadrevu, Executive Director at HPCL, and Pankaj Deokar, Vice President – Operations at Vikram Kamats Hospitality Limited.

The rollout will begin with a pilot in Maharashtra, followed by phased expansion to highways and cities across the country. With HPCL’s wide retail network, the company plans to scale the concept nationally. The outlets will focus on quick service and travel-friendly packaging, catering to commuters, families, fleet operators and business travellers.

Commenting on the partnership, Dr. Vikram Kamat, Founder of Vikram Kamats Hospitality Limited, said, “For decades, Indian travellers have associated fuel stops with necessity alongside comfort. This partnership allows us to change that narrative. Through coming together with HPCL, we are creating spaces where people can pause, eat well, and travel better. Our focus has always been on food that is honest, hygienic, and familiar, and this collaboration allows us to take that experience to where India travels every day, on its highways and city roads.”

Both companies stated that the expansion will follow a phased model, with focus on operational consistency and long-term sustainability.
