Trimex Foods Pvt. Ltd., one of India’s leading multi-brand restaurant operators, has secured the exclusive franchise rights to bring Panda Express to India. The rights have been granted by a subsidiary of Panda Restaurant Group. As part of the agreement, Trimex Foods plans to invest around ₹400 crore to roll out nearly 100 outlets across the country. The expansion will begin in Delhi NCR, followed by other major metros and emerging cities.
The partnership marks a significant step in Trimex Foods’ growth strategy and reflects the rising demand for global fast-casual dining brands in India. With this launch, Indian consumers will get access to popular dishes such as Original Orange Chicken® and Honey Walnut Shrimp®.
Trimex Foods currently operates several international brands in India, including Chili's Grill & Bar, PAUL, and Cinnabon, giving it a strong foundation to scale the new venture. The company plans to leverage its existing capabilities across real estate, supply chain, and operations, with the first outlets expected to open in 2027.
Founded in 1983 by Andrew Cherng and Peggy Cherng, Panda Express has grown into the world’s largest American Chinese restaurant brand. It operates over 2,600 outlets across 12 countries and generates annual revenues exceeding $6 billion.
