
Sahtain, a North African and Levantine restaurant at The Primo by Mann & Salwa has opened in Ahmedabad. The newly opened restaurant brings the flavours, traditions, and communal dining culture of the region to the city, offering guests an immersive culinary experience inspired by authentic recipes, warm hospitality, and the timeless ritual of sharing meals.
The restaurant takes its name from the Arabic phrase"Sahtain,"a traditional wish for good health exchanged while dining. Inspired by the rich food traditions of North Africa and the Levant, Sahtain celebrates togetherness through thoughtfully crafted dishes that blend heritage with contemporary presentation.
The kitchen is led by Chef Abdullah Saeed, a Lebanese chef with more than a decade of culinary experience across the Levant. His menu showcases authentic regional flavours using fresh herbs, aromatic spices, seasonal ingredients, and time-honoured cooking techniques, presented with a modern approach.
The menu is designed for sharing and features signature dishes such as Kefte Durum with shish kefta, tarator and red serrano shatta, the Egyptian favourite Koshary, and Ouzi, a fragrant spiced rice preparation wrapped in crisp phyllo pastry. Other highlights include freshly made Labneh, Roasted Red Pepper Hummus, and the Smoked Cherry & Almond Salad, reflecting the vibrant flavours and generous spirit of the cuisine.
Complementing the food is a curated zero-proof beverage programme by Sanyog Nikharge. Drinks including Bekaa Brew, Golden Bloom, Olive-Tini, and Red Sun Over Aleppo reinterpret the distinctive ingredients and aromas of North Africa and the Levant through creative, alcohol-free beverages.
