The Agave Room, a concept-driven cocktail bar focused on agave-based spirits such as tequila and mezcal. The format reflects a growing shift in urban hospitality towards experience-led drinking spaces that emphasise storytelling, product education, and curated consumption.
The Agave Room positions itself beyond a conventional bar setup, with a structured concept built around five elements—Earth, Fire, Air, Water and Teotl. These elements influence the overall design, beverage program, and guest engagement model, aligning with the broader industry trend of thematic and immersive hospitality formats.
The concept has been developed by Vijay Prakash (Veepee) and Vinay Singh Chand, combining creative direction with operational execution. Veepee, who has over 27 years of experience in the beverage industry, brings category expertise in agave spirits, while Vinay Singh Chand, with over 15 years of experience, oversees operations and customer experience.
Veepee said, “My journey began in Mexico, where I spent time understanding the culture and the craft behind agave spirits in a deeply immersive way. With The Agave Room, my intention was to reintroduce these spirits to India in a more meaningful way—one that is deeply rooted in land, craft and ritual.”
He added, “Every cocktail here is part of what we call ‘The Ritual’—a sensory journey that transforms a simple night out into something immersive and memorable.”
The beverage program is structured around thematic storytelling, with cocktails designed to reflect specific elements. Offerings include The Harvest (Earth), Melon Flow (Water), Hot and Holy (Fire), Guava Whisper (Air), and Golden Union (Aether). The program is led by Veepee along with R. Ngaovane (Ava), with a focus on layered flavours and narrative-driven mixology.
Complementing the drinks is a food menu designed to support pairing and enhance overall consumption. The offering includes dishes such as Black Bean & Quinoa Salad, Stuffed Chilli, Mexican Meatballs, Jackfruit Carnitas, Chicken Chipotle Flatbread, and Pork Ribs, along with a dessert option, Loco for Coco. The menu reflects a mix of global and Mexican-inspired formats, aligned with the bar’s core beverage theme.
The space uses material-led interiors with green tones, stone finishes, and layered textures, creating a premium yet compact format. With a seating capacity of 68, the bar targets controlled footfall and curated guest experiences, which is increasingly becoming a preferred model in metro markets.
Operationally, the outlet follows a dual-format approach, with weekdays focused on tastings and slower-paced engagement, while weekends shift towards a high-energy format with curated music programming across Afro house, disco, and electronic genres.
Open daily from 12 PM to 1 AM, the bar operates at an average cost for two of approximately Rs 3000. The launch highlights the continued evolution of Delhi’s nightlife ecosystem, where niche concepts and category-specific offerings are gaining traction among urban consumers seeking differentiated experiences.
