Restaurant India News: Sheraton Grand Chennai Elevates Sandeep Gane to HR Director Role

Sheraton Grand Chennai Resort & Spa has promoted Sandeep Gane to the role of Human Resource Director, following his tenure as Assistant Director of HR at the 129-room beach resort located on East Coast Road.

The elevation comes after Gane’s role in managing key workforce functions at the property, including overseeing a team of over 300 associates and maintaining an Associate Engagement Score of 95 percent. During his tenure, the resort also reported a 4 percent increase in its female workforce ratio in 2024, reflecting a focus on diversity metrics within operations.

Gane brings more than 18 years of experience in hospitality human resources, with prior roles across multiple hotel brands in India. Before joining Sheraton Grand Chennai in October 2023, he served as Associate Director HR in a cluster capacity at The Raintree Hotels, where he was responsible for managing a workforce of 550 employees. His earlier roles include Talent & Culture Manager in a cluster role at Novotel Visakhapatnam Varun Beach and The Bheemili Resort, as well as HR Manager positions at The Lalit Golf & Spa Resort Goa and The Chancery Pavilion.

Gane holds an Executive MBA in Human Resource & Training from NIBM Global (2019) and a Bachelor of Hotel Management (2007). His career includes industry recognition such as the Best Employer Brand Award (2018) and a nomination for the Achievers Award (2021).

In his new role, he will continue to lead HR operations, including talent acquisition, compliance, and employee engagement, with a focus on aligning workforce performance with overall guest experience outcomes at the resort.
