Restaurant India News: SALT Indian Restaurant Opens its Second Outlet in Chennai

SALT Indian Restaurant has expanded in Chennai with the opening of its second outlet at Brigade World Trade Center, marking what the brand calls a meaningful homecoming. The restaurant first launched in Chennai, and the strong support for its Vadapalani flagship paved the way for this new location.

The new outlet introduces a refreshed SALT 2.0 experience, featuring a modern, fine-dining ambience, updated flavours and a polished yet warm service style. The interiors combine soft lighting, glass elements and versatile seating suited for both family dining and business lunches.

The menu continues to highlight the restaurant’s popular dishes, including Charcoal Chicken Tikka, Saffroni Chicken Malai Kebab, Galouti Kebab, Kozhi Melagu Curry, Pardha Mutton Biryani, and the signature Elaneer Paysam. Each dish aims to showcase Indian flavours with a contemporary touch.

“Chennai has always been family to us. The love we received from day one made SALT part of the city’s dining culture, and we wanted to return with something even more special,” says Chef Balaji Balachander, who has been central to the brand’s growth.

Chef Balachander adds, “For us, everything at SALT comes back to three pillars - people, product, and experience. This new outlet embodies that philosophy in the most honest way. We wanted guests to feel something interesting yet still feel at home.”

With this new opening, SALT continues its ambitious expansion toward becoming one of India’s leading modern Indian dining brands. The group is steadily growing across the country with an outlet in Pune and an exciting Mumbai launch coming up soon.
