Anahata Café has launched following the rebranding of the former Roots Café. The transformation marks a shift in the café’s positioning from a farm-to-table dining concept to a wellness-oriented dining space focused on mindful food and lifestyle experiences.
The brand transition also coincides with the café’s move to a new location in Amar Colony. The café continues to operate as a women-led dining initiative while expanding its concept to include a broader focus on wellness, mindfulness and conscious consumption.
The name Anahata is derived from a Sanskrit term associated with the heart chakra and reflects the café’s updated brand direction centred on emotional well-being and balanced living. The rebranding represents an operational shift from a traditional café format to a hospitality space that integrates food, ambience and lifestyle elements.
Meenakshi Kumarr, Chef and Founder of Anahata Café, said, “Roots Café was where we learned to nourish people. Anahata Café is where we learned to hold space for them. This transition is not just a rebrand; it is a reflection of inner growth, deeper intention, and our commitment to creating food and spaces that truly come from the heart. To every guest who has supported Roots, this journey exists because of your love and trust. Anahata is not a goodbye to Roots; it is Roots growing deeper and blooming wider. The warmth, honesty, and care you experienced with us will only become stronger. We invite you to walk into Anahata with the same openness with which you embraced Roots.”
The new menu at Anahata Café focuses on wellness-driven offerings, including dishes influenced by sattvic cooking principles and seasonal ingredients sourced through farm-linked supply chains. The café has also expanded its beverage programme to include functional drinks, fresh juices and herbal infusions. Menu development emphasises ingredient transparency and mindful preparation techniques.
In addition to menu changes, the restaurant’s design has been updated to support the new concept. The space incorporates natural materials, biophilic design elements and a layout intended to encourage slower dining experiences.
The café is located at E 140, ground floor, Block E, Amar Colony, opposite Tagore International School in Lajpat Nagar IV. With the new identity and location, Anahata Café aims to expand its presence within Delhi’s growing market for wellness-oriented dining experiences while continuing to serve its existing community of customers.
