Restaurant India News: Nanna House Brings Authentic Flavours of Andhra in Mumbai

Nanna House opens in Mumbai, offering the flavours of Andhra. Bringing a fresh burst of flavour from South India, Nanna House is a unique new eatery in Bandra dedicated to authentic Andhra breakfast cuisine. Unlike most South Indian spots that highlight Udupi or Tamil flavours, Nanna House shines a spotlight on the comforting, home-style breakfasts of Andhra. From Pesarattu and Poori Saagu to button idlis with zesty chutneys, every dish evokes the warmth and nostalgia of a Vijayawada kitchen.

Created by Mir Aga Syed, the visionary behind Aegyo Café and Dirty Martini, Nanna House is more than just a restaurant—it’s a heartfelt story. “Nanna,” meaning father in Telugu, captures the essence of a father’s wish to share the flavours of home with his daughters and with anyone longing for the true taste of Andhra in Mumbai. It’s a loving ode to family, tradition, and food that feels like home.

“Being from Hyderabad, authentic Andhra food has always been close to our hearts. My daughters grew up loving those flavours, but in Mumbai, they missed that comfort. Nanna House is my way of bringing a little bit of that home to them,” said Mir Aga Syed, Founder, Nanna House.

Among the regulars are Butter Idli, Podi Idli, Button Idli (mini idlis), Masala Dosa, Ghee Plain Dosa, Karam Podi Dosa. For authentic Andhra delights, you must try their Specials featuring Millet Cone Idli, Poori Saagu, Pesarattu (Healthy, crispy crepes made with lentils, spices and herbs), Babai Idli (Soft idlis dunked in ghee) and 70mm Dosa, that’s inspired from the 70mm movie theatre screen. No Andhra breakfast is complete without a strong filter kaapi and at Nānna House, it comes with a variety too. From classic Filter Coffee to Iced Filter Kaapi, Oatmilk versions, and the ever-popular Hyderabadi Chai, there’s a cup for every preference.
