Restaurant India News: Nandan Coffee Opens its First Flagship in Bengaluru

Nandan Coffee has launched its first flagship café at Embassy One on Bellary Road, Bengaluru, marking a significant step in bringing its farm-to-cup legacy into a contemporary urban setting. Built on a three-generation heritage of single-estate coffee, the brand’s debut in the city translates its deep-rooted philosophy of origin, craftsmanship, and ritual into a refined; coffee-first experience tailored for Bengaluru’s discerning coffee culture.

The journey of Nandan Coffee began over three decades ago with Hansraj and Hansa Mariwala, who transformed a barren tract of land into Nandanvan, a thriving, biodiverse coffee estate in Kodaikanal. What started as a personal vision to enjoy exceptional coffee while nurturing the environment evolved into a pioneering organic coffee brand.

Today, under the leadership of Yahvi Mariwala, the brand continues to build on this legacy, combining sustainability with a modern sensibility. Nestled in the Palani Hills, the Nandanvan Estate benefits from a unique microclimate, natural water harvesting systems and organic farming practices, resulting in coffees that reflect both the richness of the land and the care invested in every stage of production.

At its Bengaluru flagship, this continuity from origin to cup is expressed through a multi-format coffee experience. The space features an espresso bar with distinct roast profiles, manual brewing methods such as pour-over and French press, cold coffees on tap, and a dedicated filter kaapi bar. Extending beyond beverages, the café offers an all-day dining menu inspired by the culinary influences of Kodaikanal and Mumbai, with dishes like podi-spiced scramble, Bombay-style bagels, and tiramisu French toast. A pet-friendly approach further enhances the experience, with a specially curated pet menu adding a unique touch.

The café also integrates an experiential retail section, allowing guests to explore and purchase a wide range of coffee blends, brewing equipment, ceramicware, and curated products, including chocolates crafted to complement specific coffee profiles. Designed to echo the natural essence of the Nandanvan Estate, the space reflects a seamless blend of sustainability and contemporary design.

“Everything at Nandan Coffee begins at the estate,” says Yahvi Mariwala, Co-founder of Nandan Coffee. “We grow, process, and roast our coffee ourselves at our estate, and then bring it directly into our spaces. That closeness to origin allows us to preserve quality, remain consistent and create a coffee experience that is deeply personal and rooted in provenance. There are a few cities that welcome a new coffee address quite like Bengaluru,” she added.

With its Bengaluru launch, Nandan Coffee enters a new phase bridging its agricultural roots with an immersive urban experience. The brand continues to champion organic farming, biodiversity, and community-led practices, reinforcing its belief that coffee is not just a beverage, but a meaningful connection between land, people, and everyday life.
