Restaurant India News: McDonald’s Appoints Shruti Shukla as Head of Strategy and Insights

McDonald’s has appointed Shruti Shukla as its new Head of Strategy and Insights, reinforcing its focus on consumer-led growth and data-driven decision-making as competition intensifies across the quick service restaurant sector. Shukla joins the company after an 11-year tenure at McKinsey & Company, where she advanced from Analyst to Capabilities and Insights Expert, a role comparable to Engagement Manager.

Her experience includes advising organisations on leveraging consumer and market intelligence to strengthen decision-making, improve operational effectiveness, and support long-term business growth. She has also led global benchmarking and growth-focused projects for consumer-facing companies, covering areas such as sales, marketing, revenue growth management, innovation, and e-commerce.

The appointment comes at a time when restaurant operators are increasingly relying on consumer analytics, digital insights, and data-led planning to drive growth and improve customer engagement. Known for her expertise in research, analytics, and strategic planning, Shukla has worked across a broad range of business functions, combining quantitative and qualitative analysis to address complex business challenges.

In her new role at McDonald’s, she will lead strategy and insights initiatives, with responsibilities spanning consumer analytics, growth planning, and business transformation as the company continues to strengthen its long-term growth agenda and enhance its market position within the quick service restaurant industry.
