Hyatt Regency Dehradun Resort and Spa has named Amit Chawla as Director of Operations, adding over 22 years of hospitality experience to its executive leadership team. The move is aimed at reinforcing operational systems and supporting long-term property performance.
Amit transitions from Hyatt Regency Delhi, where he served as Director of Food & Beverage. In that role, he managed a large-format operation that included multiple dining outlets, in-room dining across 480 rooms, banquet services, and outdoor catering. The division was supported by a team of more than 200 members, requiring structured coordination, cost control, and service consistency.
His professional background includes experience with established hospitality brands such as Marriott International, Radisson Hotel Group, InterContinental Hotels Group and Jaypee Palace Hotel. Over the years, he has been involved in hotel openings, operational transitions, and large-scale readiness programs, particularly in food and beverage frameworks and team training modules.
A key component of his career has been pre-opening execution and system building, ensuring operational benchmarks are defined before launch and sustained post-opening. In prior leadership roles, he has handled multi-outlet dining structures and extensive banquet infrastructure, balancing guest service metrics with financial discipline and process control. His work has earned internal and industry recognition for performance consistency and team development.
Amit is a graduate of Hotel Management Institute, Lucknow. At Hyatt Regency Dehradun Resort and Spa, he will oversee day-to-day operations, strengthen inter-departmental alignment, and support performance-driven growth strategies in a competitive resort market. The appointment reflects Hyatt’s focus on experienced operational leadership to manage scale, maintain brand standards, and enhance efficiency across departments.
