Restaurant India News: Harajuku Tokyo Café & Bakehouse Plans Multi-City Expansion With 90 Outlets Across India

Harajuku Tokyo Café & Bakehouse has announced a major expansion plan across India, marking a new phase of growth for the Japanese-inspired dining brand. After building a strong following in Delhi and Mumbai, the brand is now expanding into new cities and formats.

As part of the expansion, Harajuku will launch a dedicated Bakehouse in Delhi and a large flagship Tokyo Café and Bakehouse in Mumbai. The brand will also make its debut in Bengaluru, marking its first entry into the southern market. In addition, Harajuku plans to open its first all-vegetarian outlet in Gujarat, introducing a new format designed for the region’s dining preferences.

Harajuku Tokyo Café & Bakehouse is known for its vibrant, manga-inspired interiors and Japanese-led menu. Each outlet is designed around the character of a different Japanese district. For instance, the Mumbai outlet draws inspiration from the energy of Shibuya, while the M3M IFC Gurugram outlet reflects the neon nightlife of Kabukicho and the Ambience Mall Gurugram outlet is inspired by Ueno.

The menu features popular dishes such as the viral jiggly pancakes, Japanese cotton cheesecake, conveyor-belt sushi, and a range of creative beverages that have gained a loyal following.

Gaurav Kanwar, Founder of Harajuku Tokyo Café & Bakehouse said, “There’s something incredibly special about watching people truly connect with what you’ve built. The response we received in Delhi was overwhelming, and Mumbai took that love to another level. It reassured us that this vision resonates. As we now expand into Bangalore and other cities, it feels like the right time to share this experience with an even wider audience, while staying true to the care, energy, and authenticity that define us.”

With its entry into Bengaluru and the launch of its first all-vegetarian outlet in Gujarat, Harajuku aims to strengthen its presence in key markets across India and bring its Japanese café experience to a wider audience.
