Grand Hyatt Mumbai has appointed Stefan Bucher as Executive Assistant Manager – Food & Beverage, indicating a strategic focus on strengthening its dining and revenue functions within a competitive luxury hospitality market.
Bucher brings over 25 years of experience in the global hospitality industry, including more than 15 years across Asia. His background includes roles across Swiss luxury hotels, Michelin-starred restaurants, hotel launches, lifestyle dining formats, and large-scale MICE operations. His experience spans operational management, food and beverage innovation, and commercial strategy, with a focus on improving performance and guest engagement.
He holds a degree from the Swiss Federal Culinary Academy, along with a diploma in Hotel Management from HFZ Zurich and an MBA from EHL Lausanne (2023), where he specialised in Strategic Management and Global Hospitality Leadership.
In his new role, Bucher will oversee the hotel’s food and beverage operations, with a mandate to drive operational efficiency, enhance dining formats, and support sustained revenue growth. The appointment comes at a time when luxury hotels are increasingly relying on F&B as a key contributor to overall profitability and brand positioning.
Stefan said, “I look forward to building on Grand Hyatt Mumbai’s strong culinary reputation by introducing innovative experiences that balance global excellence with local relevance, while fostering a collaborative and performance-driven culture.”
The move reflects a broader trend where hotels are investing in experienced leadership to optimise F&B verticals, particularly as standalone dining and experiential formats gain traction in urban markets like Mumbai.
The appointment reinforces Grand Hyatt Mumbai’s ongoing efforts to align leadership capabilities with evolving consumer expectations and operational demands in the hospitality sector.
