Fortune Hotels, part of the ITC Hotels Group, has strengthened its leadership bench with three General Manager appointments across key markets — Chennai, Pahalgam and Bhubaneswar. The move signals a structured focus on operational control and market-specific growth as the mid-market and upscale segments continue to expand in regional India.
At Fortune Select OMR Chennai, Mahi Teja Yenumula has been appointed General Manager. With over 14 years of industry experience, he brings operational and commercial expertise shaped by roles across major hospitality brands. His career includes leadership assignments with Hyatt Hotels Corporation and Accor. Before joining Fortune Park Hotels Ltd., he served as Operations Manager at ibis Bangalore Hosur Road under Accor, where he handled both operational and commercial functions, focusing on performance metrics and process efficiency. In his new role, he will oversee overall hotel operations in Chennai with an emphasis on strengthening market positioning and guest engagement.
In Jammu and Kashmir, Fortune Pahalgam will now be led by Irfan Hussain Dar as General Manager. With over 16 years of experience, Dar has worked with established hospitality brands including The Lalit, Taj Hotels, Marriott International, and Radisson Hotel Group. Prior to this appointment, he was General Manager at The Kabo Luxury Hotel, where he managed day-to-day operations and service delivery. At Fortune Pahalgam, he will supervise overall operations, with focus on operational consistency and regional brand consolidation.
In eastern India, Priyabrata Baisya has been appointed General Manager at Fortune Park Sishmo Bhubaneswar. With over 22 years of hospitality experience, Baisya has held leadership roles at RAMADA by Wyndham, Howard Johnson by Wyndham, Greenpark Hotels, The HHI Group, and Sarovar Hotels. Most recently, he served as pre-opening General Manager at Ramada Encore by Wyndham Siliguri, leading the property from development to launch and operational stabilisation. At Fortune Park Sishmo, he will oversee hotel operations, team performance, and long-term growth planning.
The three appointments indicate Fortune Hotels’ strategy of placing experienced operational leaders in high-potential regional markets. As domestic travel and business mobility continue to drive demand across Tier-1 and Tier-2 cities, leadership depth at the property level remains critical for revenue optimisation, cost control, and service consistency.
With combined experience ranging from 14 to 22 years across international and Indian hotel brands, the newly appointed General Managers are expected to strengthen operational execution and align each property with Fortune Hotels’ broader expansion roadmap.
