Cygnett Hotels & Resorts has announced the signing of Cygnett Inn Motihari, a brownfield hospitality project in Bihar, as the company continues to expand its presence across Tier II and Tier III markets in India.
The upcoming property will operate under the company’s midscale brand, Cygnett Inn, and is aimed at serving business travellers, leisure guests, and the growing demand for social and corporate events in the region.
Located in Motihari in East Champaran district, the project comes as the city witnesses increased commercial activity, improved connectivity, and rising demand for organised hospitality infrastructure. The destination also holds historical importance due to its association with Mahatma Gandhi’s Champaran Satyagraha movement.
The hotel will feature 70 rooms along with facilities including an all-day dining restaurant, gymnasium, spa, and swimming pool. The project will also focus heavily on meetings, weddings, and social events through its banquet and conference infrastructure.
According to the company, the property will include three event venues, including a 5,500 sq. ft. banquet hall connected to a 17,000 sq. ft. outdoor lawn designed for weddings and large gatherings. In addition, the hotel will house two meeting spaces measuring approximately 1,600 sq. ft. and 575 sq. ft. respectively for conferences and private events.
Sarbendra Sarkar, Founder and Managing Director, Cygnett Hotels & Resorts, said, “Hospitality demand in India is increasingly expanding beyond traditional metro markets. We are witnessing growing demand for quality branded accommodation and event infrastructure across emerging cities, driven by regional economic activity, improving connectivity, and evolving travel patterns. Motihari represents an important market with strong long-term potential, and this signing aligns with our strategy of strengthening our presence across high-growth destinations.”
The hotel is expected to become operational by the end of this year. Cygnett Hotels & Resorts currently operates across upscale, midscale, and budget hospitality segments through brands including Cygnett, Cozzet, and Cygnett Inn. The company also maintains a strategic association with Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, which operates approximately 9,300 hotels across more than 95 countries.
