Restaurant India News: Bira 91 Taproom Opens its First Outpost in Pune with 16 Craft Beers on Tap

Bira 91 Taproom, India’s largest Taproom chain, made its much-anticipated debut in Pune with the launch of its first-ever outpost in the city at The Mills, Sangamvadi.

Spanning 3,200 sq. ft. and seating 130 guests, the new outlet marks Bira 91’s ninth Taproom, complete with a 16-tap wall serving one of the city's most diverse and experimental beer lineups. The Bira 91 Taproom operates from 12 noon to 1:30 am, with meals for two priced at ₹2,000 and drinks starting at ₹229.

Designed with a contemporary industrial aesthetic, the Taproom features natural greenery, a calming wall fountain, and hand-painted arches depicting the journey from grain to mug. The space blends warmth, creativity, and character to create a vibrant yet inviting atmosphere. The food menu continues the brand’s innovative approach, offering globally inspired comfort dishes from sliders and small plates to flatbreads and Asian-style plates, all curated to pair with the Taproom’s craft beers and cocktails. Guests can expect everything from Bira 91’s flagship brews to limited-edition small batches.

As part of its focus on innovation, the Pune Taproom will debut a new beer on tap every week through its “Make Play Thursdays,” encouraging repeat visits with fresh offerings. The venue will also host an energetic calendar of events, including beer-tasting workshops, pub quizzes, live music, indie gigs, sports screenings, as well as LGBTQ+ and pet-friendly gatherings, positioning it as a community hub for the city’s creative crowd.

Speaking on the launch, Rahul Singh, Founder & CEO said, “The launch of the Bira 91 Taproom in Pune marks a key milestone in our expansion journey as we continue to grow our footprint across India’s most vibrant cities. Pune’s thriving craft beer culture makes it the perfect market for our experiential Taproom format, which brings together innovation, community, and craft. With the largest tap wall in the city and a constantly evolving beer lineup, this outpost embodies our vision of redefining how consumers experience beer.”
