Nasi and Mee have opened its newest outlet at Phoenix Marketcity, Chennai, marking the brand’s third restaurant in the city and its flagship location as it celebrates 10 years since its launch in 2015. With this expansion, the Southeast Asian restaurant chain now operates nine outlets across South India.
The new space stands out for its striking design, envisioned as a modern Balinese villa. Featuring exposed rafters, cane light fixtures, and a spacious rectangular layout, the interiors offer guests a clear view across the restaurant. Pivot and louvre columns add depth and movement, while the intentionally dimmer lighting creates a warm, evening-inspired atmosphere.
To celebrate the launch, Nasi and Mee has introduced a limited-period offering, The Korean Edit with the brand’s first Korean-focused menu. Alongside its signature Southeast Asian dishes from Singapore and Malaysia, as well as sushi and ramen, the special menu highlights Korean street-food favourites.
Diners can choose from dishes such as Jjin-Mandu (steamed dumplings), Gimbap (hand-rolled rice rolls), and Yangnyeon Chicken Wings tossed in a sweet-spicy Korean glaze. Seafood lovers can opt for Haemul Pajeon, Korean-style pancakes with prawns and scallions. Mains include N&M Korean-Style Ramen and Bibimbap, the iconic Korean rice bowl with assorted vegetables and protein options. The menu concludes with Passion Fruit Panna Cotta served with fresh purée.
“Our new flagship at Chennai is designed to bring diners closer to the craft behind their food. After seeing this format thrive in Bangalore, we’re excited to introduce Chennai to its first live sushi station — a space where flavour and experience come together. Launching at Phoenix Marketcity, one of the city’s most loved destinations, makes this milestone even more meaningful,” said Dilip Krishnan, Co-founder and CEO, India of Foodsta Kitchens, parent company of Nasi and Mee.
With a capacity of 62 covers, this flagship restaurant is set to become a landmark dining destination in Chennai. Whether it’s indulging in a hearty Korean meal or simply sipping on Milo, guests can eat their way through Southeast Asia and beyond with Nasi and Mee.
