Popeyes India Plans to Double West Region Footprint After Mumbai Success

Popeyes, the Louisiana-born fried chicken chain, has completed its first year in Mumbai and is preparing for its next phase of expansion across Western India. The brand said it plans to double its footprint in the region over the next 12 months, building on its growth in Mumbai and its recent entry into Pune, where it opened four restaurants in June 2026.

Mumbai has emerged as a key market for the quick-service restaurant brand since its arrival in the city. According to the company, Popeyes has served more than 100,000 consumers over the past year, highlighting growing demand for its Louisiana-inspired menu in the market.

The company also reported that its Mumbai outlets have consistently maintained an average dine-in rating of more than 4.6, reflecting positive consumer response to the brand's offerings and in-store experience.

As part of its first anniversary celebrations, Popeyes is introducing a limited-period promotional offer from July 24 to August 16. Customers will be able to purchase 14 pieces of Popeyes chicken for Rs 399 at participating restaurants across Mumbai. The offer will be available at outlets located at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (Terminal 2), Phoenix Marketcity (Kurla), Viviana Mall (Thane), Inorbit Mall (Vashi), The Capital Mall (Nalasopara) and The Walk (Thane).

Vibhor Gupta, EVP and Chief Business Officer, Popeyes India, said, "Mumbai has played an important role in Popeyes' journey in India, and we're incredibly grateful for the enthusiasm with which consumers have embraced our brand over the past year. Their trust and love has given us the confidence to think bigger and invest further in this market. We are committing to doubling our footprint in the West region over the next 12 months, and thereby introducing more consumers to our distinctive Louisiana-inspired flavours, and continuing to deliver the quality and experiences that have made Popeyes® a favourite among our guests. While this anniversary celebrates our first milestone in Mumbai, it also marks the beginning of our next phase of growth."

The expansion reflects the continued growth of international quick-service restaurant brands in India's western markets. With Mumbai and Pune emerging as important consumption hubs, operators are increasingly investing in larger store networks and regional expansion strategies to capture rising demand for branded dining experiences.

The company said its future growth plans will focus on expanding restaurant presence, strengthening consumer engagement and increasing accessibility across the West region.
