MITTI Café Opens New Outlet at Sky City Mall, Borivali

MITTI Café, in partnership with DBS Bank India, has opened a new outlet at Sky City Mall in Borivali East, Mumbai. The café, entirely managed by people with physical, intellectual and psychosocial disabilities, was inaugurated on October 17, 2026, by Maharashtra Governor Shri Jishnu Dev Varma.

The inauguration was attended by Tanu Prasad, CEO, Sky City Mall; Shishir Joshi, CEO, Project Mumbai; Dr. Rakesh Jha; Dr. Uttam Ojha; Alina Alam, Founder and CEO, MITTI Café; and Lata Nayak, Director, MITTI Café, along with other guests, partners, team members and their families.

The new outlet marks another step in the three-year partnership between MITTI Café and DBS Bank India to expand economic opportunities for persons with disabilities. Located in a prominent area of the mall, the café aims to make workplace inclusion more visible in everyday life. Through its food and beverage service, MITTI Café seeks to challenge perceptions about disability and demonstrate how the right training, guidance and support can help people build meaningful careers.

During the launch; the Governer of Maharashtra Shri Jishnu Dev Varma said, “An inclusive society is one that recognises the potential of every individual and ensures that everyone has the opportunity to participate in the nation’s progress. MITTI Café is making a meaningful contribution in this direction by creating avenues for persons with disabilities to develop their skills, earn with dignity and become financially independent.
