KOFUKU, one of India’s most popular Japanese dining brands, has strengthened its presence in Mumbai with the opening of a new outlet in Juhu. The restaurant brings together authentic Japanese cuisine, traditional hospitality, and immersive cultural elements, offering diners an experience inspired by Japan in one of the city’s most vibrant neighborhoods.

Established in 2012 by Morup, KOFUKU began with a vision to make authentic Japanese cuisine accessible to a wider audience at a time when it was largely limited to luxury hotels and fine-dining establishments. The concept quickly gained popularity, helping the brand grow across key markets including Mumbai, Delhi, Gurugram, Goa, and Leh.

The Juhu outlet stays true to KOFUKU’s focus on authenticity while creating a welcoming dining environment rooted in Japanese culture. The space features traditional Horigotatsu seating, Zashiki-style tatami arrangements, and contemporary table seating, allowing guests to choose between classic and modern dining formats.

The menu presents a broad range of Japanese favourites, showcasing the brand’s culinary expertise. Signature offerings include the “Oh My God” Sushi, Buta no Shoga Yaki, Wafu Steak Carpaccio, Yakitori, and Prawn Tempura. Reflecting changing consumer preferences, the restaurant also offers an extensive selection of vegan and gluten-free dishes, with customization options available for guests with specific dietary needs.

The dining experience is complemented by a thoughtfully curated beverage program inspired by Japanese ingredients and traditions. Guests can enjoy cocktails featuring sake, umeshu, and wasabi, alongside premium Japanese teas such as Sencha and Matcha. Advanced bar techniques, including hard shaking, artisanal ice carving, and the use of crystal-clear ice, further enhance the presentation and flavour of the drinks.
