India’s largest microbrewery chain, Ironhill India, has appointed Martin Barth as its new Head Brewer.
With over two decades of hands-on experience across small pubs and industrial beer production plants in Europe, he has held leadership roles at celebrated breweries in Munich and Bavaria.
Martin brings a rare blend of technical expertise, world-class brewing discipline, and global perspective to Ironhill’s fast expanding operations.
Ironhill India, established in 2017 as the first microbrewery in Andhra Pradesh, has rapidly grown its footprints across southern India, with outlets spanning Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Hyderabad, Nellore, and Bengaluru. Ironhill’s flagship Bengaluru microbrewery remains the largest in the world, and the group recently closed FY24 with robust revenues of ₹174 crore.
“Joining Ironhill India feels like coming home to craft beer’s most exciting frontier. India’s beer-goers are evolving and are more curious, more discerning. For me, Ironhill isn’t just the fastest-growing brewery chain in the country, but a platform to push brewing boundaries, experiment with global techniques, and deliver flavours that honour both tradition and innovation,” shared Barth.
With Martin on board, Ironhill plans to deepen its commitment to brewing excellence where they will look at refining classic recipes, launching limited-edition seasonal brews, and exploring new styles that blend global brewing traditions with local tastes.
This move underscores Ironhill’s ambition to not just lead the craft-beer scene in India, but to shape its future.
“At Ironhill, we’ve always believed that great beer begins with great talent. As we scale and diversify, it’s crucial that our brewhouse leadership reflects the passion and precision we promise our patrons. Martin joins Ironhill at a pivotal moment. With his rich experience across Europe and deep respect for craft, from grain to glass, we’re doubling down on quality, consistency and creativity. Our customers deserve nothing less,” added Teja Chekuri, Co-Founder & Managing Partner, Ironhill India.
Ironhill is gearing up for its next phase of expansion and innovation. The focus now moves toward elevating beer styles across regions, strengthening R&D in flavour experimentation, and building signature brews that define Ironhill’s identity nationwide.
With new outlets in the pipeline and deeper investments in talent, technology, and large-format experiential spaces, Ironhill is doubling down on its promise: to lead India’s craft beer revolution with scale, originality, and uncompromising quality.
