Restaurant India News: Westlife Foodworld Q4 FY26 Profit Rises 56 Percent on Strong McDonald’s Sales

Westlife Foodworld, the operator of McDonald's restaurants in west and south India, reported a 56 percent year-on-year increase in consolidated net profit for the March quarter of FY26 at Rs 2.37 crore, compared to Rs 1.52 crore during the same period last year.

The company’s revenue from operations grew 8.65 percent to Rs 655.36 crore in the quarter, up from Rs 603.14 crore a year earlier. According to the company, the growth was supported by higher guest counts and continued customer engagement with the brand. Westlife Foodworld reported Same Store Sales Growth (SSSG) of 1.5 percent during the quarter, with business momentum improving progressively across the three months.

Demand trends remained mixed across channels, with on-premise sales contributing 58 percent of total revenue. The dine-in and takeaway segments recorded 9 percent year-on-year growth, driven by higher footfalls during the quarter. Off-premise sales increased 6 percent year-on-year, led by growth in the McDelivery platform, which the company identified as an increasingly important contributor to business expansion.

The company stated that restaurant operating margins improved by around 70 basis points year-on-year, while EBITDA margins remained largely stable at 13.3 percent. The performance was supported by cost optimisation measures despite ongoing investments in growth initiatives.

“While the business navigated near-term volatility in LPG and inflationary pressure across key commodities, supply chain efficiencies, proactive sourcing strategies and cost optimisation helped mitigate the impact,” the company said in its earnings statement.

Total expenses during the March quarter rose 8.34 percent to Rs 662.80 crore, while total income, including other income, increased 7.95 percent to Rs 661.84 crore. For the full FY26 period, Westlife Foodworld reported consolidated profit of Rs 32.33 crore, more than double the previous year’s figure. Total consolidated income for the year rose 5.6 percent to Rs 2,656.97 crore.

On the expansion front, the company added 21 restaurants during Q4 FY26, taking its total network to 478 outlets across 78 cities. Westlife Foodworld said it remains on track to achieve its medium-term target of operating 580-630 restaurants by 2027.

“Despite ongoing external pressures, our focus on value leadership, digital engagement and operational efficiency enabled us to sustain margins while improving guest counts,” said Chairperson Amit Jatia.

Shares of Westlife Foodworld Ltd closed at Rs 502.05 on the BSE on Thursday, up 1.55 percent from the previous close.
