Global coffeehouse chain Starbucks is set to introduce two new limited-edition summer beverages — the Blue Coconut Refresher and Iced Blue Coconut Matcha — from June 16, combining tropical flavors with a social impact initiative aimed at expanding access to safe water.
As part of the launch, Starbucks will contribute 25 cents from every Blue Coconut beverage sold between June 16 and July 7 to support Get Blue, a clean water initiative led by Water.org. The campaign aims to make it easier for customers to contribute to global water access efforts through their everyday beverage purchases.
The Blue Coconut Refresher blends coconut, strawberry and açaí flavors, hand-shaken with ice and blue spirulina for a vibrant appearance. Customers can also choose from variations including the Blue Coconut Lemonade Refresher, made with lemonade, and the Ocean Drink, prepared with coconut milk. The beverages can be customized based on preferred caffeine levels.
Meanwhile, the Iced Blue Coconut Matcha combines iced matcha with sweet mango notes and toasted coconut cold foam, while blue spirulina adds a distinctive tropical-inspired hue.
The initiative builds on Starbucks' ongoing efforts to support water security in coffee-, tea- and cocoa-growing communities worldwide. Through its partnership with Water.org and investments in WaterEquity, Starbucks says it has helped more than 700,000 people gain access to safe water and sanitation services.
The Get Blue campaign seeks to mobilize organizations and consumers to accelerate clean water access globally, with Starbucks positioning the new beverage range as both a seasonal offering and a vehicle for social impact.
The Blue Coconut Refresher and Iced Blue Coconut Matcha will be available at participating Starbucks stores for a limited period beginning June 16.
