SOM Group has reported a stable operational performance for the quarter and half year ended September 30, 2025, maintaining profitability and strengthening margins through FY 2026. The company achieved this despite a minor dip in total income during the period, supported largely by strong momentum in its beer portfolio.
In Q2 FY 2026, SOM Group sold 36 lakh cases of beer across its key brands—Hunter, Woodpecker, Power Cool, and Legend. This traction underscores the company’s firm position in its core markets and steady consumer demand for its mainstream and premium beer offerings. The focus on consistent brewing quality, deeper market penetration, and brand-driven consumer engagement supported volume growth even as the broader industry faced volatility.
For H1 FY 26, total income stood at Rs 800.09 crore, slightly lower than Rs 804.69 crore recorded in the previous year, representing a marginal decline of 0.6 percent. The dip reflects temporary market softness, while fundamental demand trends continue to remain intact.
Gross profit margins showed improvement. In Q2 FY 26, the margin rose to 41.06 percent from 40.01 percent a year earlier. For the first half of FY 26, gross profit increased 4.2 percent to Rs 300.9 crore compared to Rs 288.88 crore in H1 FY 25, with gross margins rising to 37.61 percent from 35.90 percent.
EBITDA also strengthened. In Q2 FY 26, EBITDA reached Rs 40.52 crore, up 15.1 percent over Rs 35.19 crore reported in Q2 FY 25. The margin grew to 15.0 percent from 12.1 percent. For H1 FY 26, EBITDA increased 12.5 percent year-on-year to Rs 112.57 crore, and the margin improved to 14.1 percent from 12.43 percent last year.
Profit Before Tax for Q2 FY 26 rose to Rs 27.45 crore, reflecting a 5.5 percent increase over Rs 26.01 crore in the same quarter last year. The PBT margin increased to 10.17 percent from 8.94 percent. For the half year, PBT reached Rs 85.83 crore, up 4.6 percent compared to Rs 82.05 crore in H1 FY 25, with margins rising to 10.73 percent from 10.20 percent.
Net Profit showed similar stability. Q2 FY 26 net profit was Rs 19.50 crore, an increase of 4.3 percent over Rs 18.70 crore last year, with margins improving to 7.2 percent from 6.4 percent. For H1 FY 26, net profit rose to Rs 61.56 crore, up 3.9 percent from Rs 59.24 crore, and the margin expanded to 7.69 percent from 7.36 percent.
SOM Group’s results signal operational resilience, with beer volumes playing a central role in sustaining profitability across both the quarter and half-year periods.
