Restaurant India News: PVR INOX Opens India’s First Dine-in Cinema at M5 ECity Mall, Bengaluru

PVR INOX has launched India’s first dine-in cinema at its new 8-screen multiplex in M5 ECity Mall, Bengaluru marking a new step in how multiplexes are evolving into full-fledged lifestyle destinations that combine movies, dining, and social experiences under one roof.

Guests can now enjoy chef-curated meals delivered directly to their seats, with the option to dine even without watching a film. The concept blends flexibility and convenience, allowing visitors to choose from curated in-house F&B brands catering to a wide range of tastes.

The multiplex features Crosta for artisanal pizzas, Cine Café for coffee and light bites, and a Dine-In service combining fine dining with in-auditorium delivery. Other outlets such as Steamestry, Wokstar, and Local Street offer Asian, fusion, and regional cuisine, while In-Between, Dogfather, and Frytopia focus on quick, indulgent snacks.

For PVR INOX, the initiative goes beyond diversification, it’s a strategic move to boost non-ticket revenue. Food and beverage sales form a key part of multiplex profitability, and the dine-in model is expected to increase average order values and extend guest dwell time.

By integrating premium dining with cinema experiences, PVR INOX aims to transform moviegoing into a complete lifestyle outing, enhancing both customer satisfaction and business performance.

“As we launch our new multiplex at M5 ECity Mall, we are inviting audiences to experience cinema in an entirely new way. From India’s first dine-in auditorium restaurant to immersive technology and thoughtfully curated food experiences, this property brings everything our guests love under one roof. It is a space designed to celebrate films, lifestyle, and shared moments, making every visit a unique and memorable experience," said Ajay Bijli, MD, PVR INOX Limited.

Aamer Bijli, Lead Specialist, Innovation, Film Marketing and Digital Programming, PVR INOX added, “With M5 ECity Mall, we wanted to reimagine what a cinema can be. This is not just about watching films, it is about spending time well, sharing a meal, gaming with friends, relaxing in lounge spaces, and enjoying the best technology on screen.”

PVR INOX’s new 8-screen multiplex at M5 ECity Mall goes beyond movies, reflecting the company’s broader “Youthification” strategy to attract younger, experience-driven audiences.

The property features gaming zones, VR experiences, and lounge-style foyers, designed to keep visitors engaged before and after screenings. Its open layout connects cafés and lounges to create a social flow and multiple revenue touchpoints under one roof.

On the technology front, the multiplex is equipped with Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, and 4K laser projection across all auditoriums. The Big Pix auditorium offers RealD 3D, while the premium Dine-In cinema features a Samsung ONYX LED screen. The CLUB format within the complex provides luxury seating and advanced sound for an enhanced viewing experience.

The opening strengthens PVR INOX’s position as India’s largest multiplex operator, marking its 580th screen in South India and bringing its total count to 1,763 screens across 355 properties in India and Sri Lanka. By integrating local dining, entertainment, and premium cinema, PVR INOX aims to redefine the multiplex experience. The dine-in model is expected to reshape how theaters utilize space—creating value not just through ticket sales, but through food, gaming, and lifestyle experiences that keep guests coming back.
