Restaurant India News: ki’en Matcha Club Launches Flagship Experience Centre and Café in Gurugram

ki’en Matcha Club has announced the opening of its flagship ki’en Matcha Club Experience Center & Café in Gurugram, marking a strategic step toward experience-led food and beverage retail. The new outlet is positioned as a destination focused on consumer education and product understanding, rather than a conventional café-only model.

The Experience Center is designed to introduce guests to authentic Japanese matcha through a structured and immersive format. Visitors are guided through the journey of matcha production, beginning with shaded tea cultivation in Japan and extending to the traditional stone-grinding process used to create matcha powder. Alongside this educational approach, the venue serves ceremonial-grade matcha prepared using traditional methods, as well as modern matcha-based beverages and pastries.

Located in Gurugram, the space is organised into two connected zones: a café area and an interactive learning section. The menu includes whisked-to-order ceremonial matcha, contemporary matcha lattes, and desserts developed to highlight the ingredient’s flavour range. The format allows customers to combine consumption with discovery, reflecting a growing demand for transparency and provenance in specialty beverages.

A central component of the concept is the interactive experience zone, where visitors can learn about matcha’s origins, production techniques, and grading systems directly from trained specialists. This feature positions the outlet as both a retail and knowledge hub, aligning with trends seen in premium beverage categories globally.

Damini Guglani, Co-Founder, ki’en Matcha Club Experience Centre & Café, said, “From the beginning, we envisioned a space that respects matcha's deep history but welcomes everyone.” She added, “People are asking more questions about where their matcha comes from and what makes it special. This centre is our response that comes with a place to explore through your senses, to understand the difference real ceremonial matcha makes. We're inviting our guests to pause and discover the craft behind the cup.”

The design language of the centre follows a minimal Japanese aesthetic, using natural materials and clean layouts to support a calm, distraction-free environment. The focus remains on mindful consumption and customer engagement rather than high-volume service.

The ki’en Matcha Club Experience Center & Café is now operational at “ki’en matcha club R1-G01 M3M 65TH Avenue, Gurugram.” For the hospitality sector, the launch highlights a growing shift toward specialised, education-driven café formats that aim to build long-term consumer loyalty through deeper product understanding rather than speed-led service alone.
