The Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts has reimagined its iconic restaurant, Mohan Mahal, into Jamavar - its signature Indian fine-dining concept - at The Leela Palace Jaipur. Long celebrated as a jewel in Jaipur’s dining scene, Mohan Mahal enters a new era as Jamavar, blending its royal legacy with a refined take on Indian gastronomy.
A signature restaurant of The Leela, Jamavar has set the standard for fine Indian dining across New Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru. Its debut in Jaipur marks a milestone in The Leela’s journey of showcasing authentic flavours, artistry, and the spirit of True Indian Luxury.
Inspired by the intricate Jamavar shawls of Kashmir, the restaurant reflects timeless craftsmanship in both design and cuisine. The original grandeur of Mohan Mahal with its 3,50,000 hand-cut Thikri mirrors and 18-carat gold-leaf details has been preserved and reimagined with a contemporary touch. Each evening, live instrumental music will bring the royal ambiance to life.
The menu highlights Jamavar’s signature dishes—Gucchi Mutter Masala, Kofta-e-Jamavar, Dal-e-Jamavar, and Gosht ki Galouti—alongside Rajasthani specialities, all crafted with local ingredients and presented with modern finesse. Led by an all-women service team, Jamavar Jaipur also introduces a creative beverage programme featuring heritage-inspired cocktails, fine wines, and premium spirits—offering guests a truly elegant dining experience.
“Mohan Mahal has always been a cherished icon, not only for The Leela but also for Jaipur’s dining landscape. Its transformation into Jamavar is both a tribute to its legacy and a continuation of our vision to set new benchmarks in Indian fine dining. With this, we extend the Jamavar legacy to Rajasthan, curating an experience where every dish and every detail embody palace-worthy refinement and the soul of True Indian Luxury,” said Anoop Pandey, Vice President & General Manager, The Leela Palace Jaipur.
With its arrival at The Leela Palace Jaipur, Jamavar is poised to become Rajasthan’s only Jamavar and a landmark in the city’s culinary landscape. This transformation reflects not just a reimagining of Mohan Mahal but also The Leela’s commitment to consistently bringing forth the very best of India’s culinary heritage, reinterpreted for the modern connoisseur. More importantly, it represents the beginning of a broader evolution in the property’s F&B offerings, with additional unveilings set to elevate Jaipur’s dining scene in the months to come.
