Hunger Inc, the parent company of popular restaurant brands such as The Bombay Canteen, O Pedro, Veronica’s, Papa’s, and Bombay Sweet Shop has raised ₹215 crore (around $25 million) in a new funding round led by Lighthouse and DSG Consumer Partners.
The round also included secondary transactions, allowing early investors like CP Gurnani and some angel investors to exit. The Godrej family office continues to back the company, which had earlier raised $1.69 million in seed funding. Hunger Inc said the funds will be used to expand its production and supply chain capabilities as it looks to grow beyond Mumbai.
In FY2025, the company reported ₹115 crore in revenue with a 9% EBITDA margin, and it expects to reach ₹150 crore in FY2026. Its dessert brand Bombay Sweet Shop is performing strongly, with monthly revenue of ₹8–9 crore.
Currently operating only in Mumbai, Hunger Inc plans to enter Delhi within the next 12–18 months and open a flagship Bombay Sweet Shop outlet in the city. The company runs five retail stores and 18 dark stores, fulfilling orders through its website as well as Swiggy and Zomato.
Hunger Inc also aims to grow its B2B and institutional business. It currently supplies to Starbucks and Oberoi Hotels, and Bombay Sweet Shop has recently partnered with IndiGo Airlines to offer products on international business class flights. The new funding marks a significant step in Hunger Inc’s plan to scale its brands and expand its footprint across India.
