Grand Mercure Bengaluru at Gopalan Mall has announced the appointment of Peter D’Souza as Associate Director, to lead its People & Culture function, reinforcing the hotel’s focus on employee experience and organisational development. With over 11 years of experience in the hospitality sector, Peter brings operational HR expertise and a strong background in team engagement, people management, and culture building within hotel environments.

His appointment comes as the hotel continues to prioritise structured workforce development and long-term internal capability building. Peter’s professional journey began as a Talent & Culture Executive at ibis Bengaluru City Centre, after which he worked across ibis properties in Chennai and Coimbatore. During this period, he gained hands-on exposure to multiple human resources functions, building a practical understanding of people operations in the hospitality industry.

Peter later returned to ibis Bengaluru, where he further strengthened his leadership skills and developed a more strategic approach to managing people and workplace culture. His experience spans operational HR execution as well as the implementation of people-focused initiatives aligned with brand standards and business requirements.

Known for advocating transparency and accessibility, Peter’s people management philosophy centres on open communication and creating a supportive work environment. His approach balances established brand values with progressive HR practices aimed at improving employee engagement and performance outcomes.

Peter holds an MBA in Human Resources from St. Joseph’s Institute of Management and a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing Management from St. Philomena’s College, University of Mysore. His academic credentials, combined with over a decade of industry experience, position him to oversee People & Culture initiatives as the hotel continues to focus on employee-led growth and operational stability.
