Courtyard by Marriott Mumbai International Airport has appointed Girish Divekar as Director of Sales & Marketing, marking his return to the property after a previous tenure that began in 2017 when he joined as Associate Director of Sales. He later served as Director of Sales until 2022, building extensive knowledge of the hotel's commercial operations and market positioning.
With more than 18 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Divekar brings expertise across sales, revenue management, business development, rooms, banqueting and catering, and food and beverage operations. In his new role, he will oversee the hotel's sales and marketing strategy with a focus on revenue growth, market share expansion, and strengthening the property's position within Mumbai's competitive hospitality market.
Girish Divekar said, "My passion for hospitality began at a young age, inspired by the warmth, care, and sense of belonging that great hotels create for their guests. The opportunity to connect with people, create memorable experiences, and make a positive impact through service is what drew me to the industry and continues to inspire me every day. Returning to Courtyard by Marriott Mumbai International Airport makes this chapter especially meaningful."
Prior to rejoining the property, Divekar led commercial initiatives that resulted in a 30 percent increase in revenue through strategic ADR and occupancy optimisation. He also contributed to strengthening corporate business and enhancing food and beverage positioning to generate additional demand streams.
Divekar said, "The hospitality landscape is more dynamic and competitive than ever before. My focus will be on driving sustainable growth through strategic segmentation, strengthening key partnerships, and delivering exceptional guest experiences. At the same time, I look forward to building on the hotel's strong market position and creating long-term value for our guests, associates and stakeholders."
he added, "Mumbai continues to be one of India's most vibrant hospitality markets, driven by strong domestic demand, growing MICE opportunities and evolving guest expectations. We will remain focused on aligning our commercial strategy with these trends while enhancing our offerings to deliver memorable experiences and sustained business growth."
The appointment comes as hospitality operators across major metropolitan markets continue to focus on experienced commercial leadership to capture growing demand from corporate travel, meetings and events, and domestic leisure segments. With Divekar returning to a property he knows well, Courtyard by Marriott Mumbai International Airport is looking to strengthen its commercial strategy and sustain growth in one of India's most competitive hotel markets.
