Restaurant India News: Bastian Hospitality Group Launches Their First Hotel ‘Bastian Riviera’ in Goa

Bastian Hospitality Group has launched their first hotel ‘Bastian Riviera’, a 1.5-acre lifestyle and hospitality destination located along the Morjim backwaters in Goa. The opening marks the group’s move beyond restaurants into a larger hospitality ecosystem. 

Bastian Riviera aims to offer a new kind of Goan experience for modern travellers. Instead of typical coastal themes, the property introduces an international design sensibility. Its central highlight is a pyramid-inspired structure surrounded by cabanas on private decks, water courtyards, circular sunbeds and an outdoor bar overlooking the backwaters. Influences from destinations like Egypt, Mykonos and Dubai are woven into the design, creating a layered, immersive setting.

On the culinary front, the property builds on Bastian’s reputation while placing stronger focus on premium seafood and local Goan flavours. The destination will also host cultural and nightlife programming, with international artists such as Jimmy Jules and Bedouin scheduled to perform through December, signalling the brand’s push to strengthen its presence in Goa’s entertainment scene.

I haven’t spent more time anywhere else in India, which is why it felt natural to bring my best work to this coastline, shaped by everything I’ve learnt through my travels. With Riviera, we wanted to honour the spirit of Goa while introducing a bold new design identity for Bastian. It is a meaningful milestone as it marks our first hotel, crafted with the care and intention that define all our spaces.”

He added, “My aim is to contribute to India’s tourism landscape while creating a destination that reflects both my personal connection to Goa and our broader vision for the future. As we move into our second phase with a dedicated wellness offering and full spa experience, Riviera becomes the starting point of a larger vision for leisure-led destinations under Bastian Hospitality Group.” 

Along with the launch, the brand released a new film titled À Beira da Riviera (“by the river” in Portuguese), setting the visual and creative tone for the property. The brand film “À Beira da Riviera” offers a first glimpse into Bastian Riviera, capturing the property’s mood, light and atmosphere ahead of its opening. Instead of simply showcasing the space, the film reflects the destination’s lifestyle-driven identity, aimed at travellers who immerse themselves in the places they visit.

With phase one of its accommodation now open and a spa planned for the next phase, Bastian Riviera marks Bastian Hospitality Group’s largest investment in Goa. The launch underscores the company’s focus on expanding in India’s leisure and lifestyle space, with the new property serving as a foundation for more experience-led destinations in the future.
