Kura Opens First Specialty Coffee and All-Day Dining Outlet in Bengaluru

Kura, a new specialty coffee and all-day dining space, has opened its first outlet on Double Road, Indiranagar, Bengaluru. Founded by first-time entrepreneurs Kiran Vijayakumar and Prajwal Venugopal, the café operates from 8 am to 11 pm, offering specialty coffee, fresh bakes and an all-day menu.

The founders spent nearly two years learning coffee, including training in roasting, brewing and sensory skills, along with visits to coffee estates and cafés across India and Asia. Kura sources coffee from Chikkamagaluru, Northeast India, the Himalayan foothills, Koraput, Araku and the Western Ghats. Its house blend combines Kent and SLN9 Arabica beans, while the menu also features experimental drinks such as No. 8 Ember, Yuzu Mirage and Cold Foam Clouds.

“Everything we loved in the cafés of Japan and Southeast Asia, we wanted to bring home, but built on Indian coffee, from the hills where it all began,” said Prajwal Venugopal, Co-founder, Kura.

The kitchen combines French techniques with Japanese precision, serving dishes ranging from Turkish Eggs and Ricotta & Roasted Fig Toast to hand-rolled pasta, baked seabass and lamb. The in-house patisserie offers fresh French bakes and fruit-inspired entremets.

Kura will also host a weekly Coffee Omakase, taking guests through a curated sequence of coffee-based creations. The café’s interiors feature cane seating, dark stone tables and custom crockery, creating a warm, minimal setting designed for both quick visits and longer dining occasions.
