Accor Asia Pacific organises competition for hospitality schools and hotel management university students throughout the region.
Only the first 300 student teams to apply will qualify for the contest, which will encourage them to focus on a real Accor case study—to reinvent Novotel hotels. Participants must demonstrate creativity and boldness and come up with the best concept as they imagine the next generation of Novotel hotels in terms of products and services to match guest expectations for the year 2020.
The contest is run on annual basis by Accor, but this year it is particularly focused on Asia Pacific. The first competition was launched by the group in 2012 and saw a mixed team with contestants from Vietnam, Thailand and China among the finalists.
The competition is organised in three rounds where students need to use their best photography and video-editing skills, and the ability to convince both in writing and orally to obtain the highest opinion scores on the online voting site, www.accortakeoff.com. The winning team will win a five-day trip, including travel, accommodation and excursions, to one of the group’s hotels in either Seoul, Hong Kong, Bali, Phuket or Bangkok.
Patrick Ollivier, Senior Vice President, Human Resources, Accor Asia Pacific, said, “Our objective is of course to increase exposure to Accor within the student community and identify great talents with a real passion for the hospitality industry, because our growth in the region is tremendous. We needed to widen our recruitment pool and have a stronger e-recruitment strategy, and this competition is a great way to provide students with exposure to Accor while helping us identify talent in the industry."
