Swiggy Introduces Multi-Restaurant Ordering Feature

Swiggy has launched a Multi-Restaurant Ordering feature that allows users to order food from up to five restaurants in a single transaction. The feature lets customers combine different cuisines, starters, main courses and desserts in one order, catering to households and groups with varied food preferences.

The feature allows users to create multiple carts, compare them side by side and complete their orders through a single payment process. This eliminates the need for separate checkouts and repeated payment steps. Customers can track all orders on a shared screen, while each restaurant prepares and delivers its order independently.

It is designed to simplify group meals, family gatherings and festive occasions, when people often prefer food from different restaurants. Instead of choosing one restaurant to accommodate everyone's tastes, users can order their preferred dishes from multiple outlets in a single session.

Speaking on the launch, Sidharth Bhakoo, Chief Business Officer, Swiggy Food Marketplace said, “Food is the centerpiece of any celebration, but agreeing on a menu is always the hardest part. We are literally bringing the concept of a food court to your home. Multi-Restaurant Ordering is our solution to the ultimate dining dilemma.”

“We're giving users the power to mix and match from their favourite restaurants or across a range of cuisines, whether it is pairing pizzas with biryani or combining sushi with local street food, all with a single checkout option. It’s about delivering more choice, offering enhanced convenience, ensuring zero compromises, and the joy of everyone at the table eating exactly what they love and crave for,” added Bhakoo.

According to Swiggy's consumer research, 55% of users create two carts in a single session, while one in five places a second order within 30 minutes of the first. These patterns indicate a demand for greater flexibility when ordering food for groups. The new feature aims to reduce the inconvenience of managing separate orders and make the process more convenient for customers.

Available across more than 720 cities, the feature expands Swiggy's food-ordering options by allowing customers to combine multiple restaurant orders into a single checkout experience.
