KFC U.S. is set to launch a new restaurant concept called Open House later this summer in McKinney, Texas, near parent company Yum Brands' headquarters in Plano.
According to KFC U.S. President Catherine Tan-Gillespie, the concept is designed to reimagine the brand for a new generation while staying true to the legacy of founder Colonel Sanders.
The new restaurant will feature a mix of new menu offerings and signature KFC favorites, alongside a redesigned customer experience that includes table service, a drive-thru, takeout options, enhanced hospitality, and digital integration.
"We're taking the idea that we can do all the things with our system, but how do we jolt the system and jump forward a decade?" Tan-Gillespie said.
The first Open House location will be company-owned, with a KFC franchisee also committing to develop a unit. The concept aims to test how consumers respond when all elements of the brand—including product, promotion, pricing, and place are reinvented within a single restaurant format.
KFC plans to share additional details about Open House in the coming months as it continues to explore new formats and menu innovations as part of its broader growth strategy.
