Jaipur welcomed a new kind of after-dark address, Dupion, a purpose-built cocktail room guided by craft and curiosity.
Named after Dupion silk - prized for its raw texture and historic ties to Jaipur’s trading past - the cocktail room reflects the same sensibility.
It is layered and tactile, designed to be discovered slowly rather than consumed all at once.
“We wanted to create something exceptional for Jaipur - an experience shaped by care, technique, and atmosphere,” said Aziz & Shokat Panwar, Co-owners, Dupion. “Dupion is built for guests who understand the patience behind fermentation, the discipline of dilution, and the difference a few seconds can make at the bar. For us, true luxury in drinking culture lives in restraint, consistency, and the quiet confidence of getting things right every night.”
Opening post-sunset from 6:30 PM to 12:30 AM, Dupion is structured to let the room ease into rhythm instead of peaking on arrival. These hours encourage guests to arrive unhurried, allowing conversations to stretch and the bar to settle into its natural cadence.
Within Jaipur’s evolving nightlife, Dupion occupies a quieter register - one that values the integrity of the pour, the steadiness of service, and the atmosphere of a room that knows exactly what it is.
At the centre is a bar programme shaped by classical methods and patient technique. House infusions, fermentations, clarifications, and controlled dilution form the backbone of the menu, with inspiration drawn from the ancient Silk Route. Teas, spices, botanicals, dried fruits, florals, and ferments - ingredients once carried across continents - are reinterpreted into cocktails built for structure and length on the palate.
Scale remains intentionally limited. The compact format allows the bar team to maintain consistency across every drink, every garnish, and every interaction. Service is attentive without intrusion, shaped by an understanding that a good cocktail room supports the drink rather than competes with it. Interiors follow the same philosophy - warm materials, softened light, and tactile finishes arranged to reward proximity and observation. The design resists spectacle, allowing the bar and the glass to remain the focus.
Dupion will open through a series of private previews before welcoming the wider public, allowing the bar programme and service to fully settle into stride. Expansion is not a priority; consistency is.
