Bar Sama and Singapore’s Cat Bite Club head to Goa for two bar takeovers at Boilermaker and Quinta Cantina on 13 and 14 January. It is shaped as much by personal connection.
The collaboration begins on 13 January with Bar Sama taking over Boilermaker for a brunch takeover, followed by Cat Bite Club founder Jesse Vida stepping behind the bar at Quinta Cantina on the evening of 14 January. Across two days, the takeovers promise inventive cocktails, comfort-driven food and a convivial atmosphere designed to bring together old friends and new.
Unlike typical guest shifts aimed purely at creating buzz, this collaboration is driven by personal relationships and a shared philosophy of making cocktails that are balanced, approachable and enjoyable for all, whether seasoned cocktail enthusiasts or casual drinkers. For Goa, the experience is intended to feel familiar, lively and grounded in the simple pleasures of good drinks and good company.
For one afternoon only at Boilermaker, Bar Sama will also take over the kitchen and bar, led by Chef Vichita. Her menu draws on instinct, memory and fire, featuring a one-day-only selection of grilled dishes and Sama favourites reimagined as tacos. Thai flavours take centre stage, layered with her personal culinary journey and Goan influences, offering bold, vibrant and indulgent plates designed for easy sharing and pairing with cocktails.
Looking forward to Bar Sama’s first outside the city time outside Bangalore, Pratheek Reddy, Founder at Bar Sama shares "What excites me about this collaboration is how it brings together the spirit of three cities. Bengaluru gives us balance and curiosity, Singapore adds precision and discipline, and Goa brings its warmth and openness. At Bar Sama, we focus on creating cocktails that are so well balanced and carefully crafted, they can easily stand alongside the best in the world. Bringing them to Goa is about sharing that same approach — thoughtful drinks, a welcoming atmosphere, and an experience that feels effortless and full of life."
Adding to Pratheek’s excitement, Jesse Vida, Founder of Cat Bite Club and Partner at Bar Sama, feels "There are natural connections between Cat Bite Club and La Quinta Cantina. Not only in our focus on Mexican and Asian spirits, but also in style of warm and engaging hospitality. We are looking forward to collaborating with our friends in Goa to bring our offerings from Singapore with love.”
Reflecting on the collaboration, Pankaj Balachandran, Founder of Quinta Cantina and Boilermaker, shares "Although each of our bars comes from a different city, we are united by a shared belief in honest hospitality and a deep respect for flavour. This collaboration is about coming together, exchanging ideas and techniques, and celebrating that shared philosophy. Over these two days, it is about creating experiences that feel genuine, lively and full of warmth, the way our bars have always strived to be."
