Coffee Island has entered the Indian market through a partnership with Vita Nova, establishing its presence in a competitive coffee landscape. The company has opened its first outlet at HQ27 in Gurgaon, featuring its proprietary in-house roasting process and a variety of Global Single Estate Beans, Global Blends, and Home Blends.
Over the past six months, the Coffee Island R&D team collaborated with industry experts, including Sunalini Menon, to develop a curated selection of ethically sourced beverages. The menu includes specialty coffee drinks such as Spanish Bombon, Mocha Espressione, Freddo Espresso Ristretto, and Vietnamese Shakerato, along with non-coffee options like Granitas, milkshakes, and flavored hot and cold chocolates.
The food menu, designed by Chef Arjyo Banerjee, features artisanal sandwiches, toasted melts, pasta dishes, and salads. Signature offerings include Peperoncini Spaghetti Aglio Olio, Mediterranean Quinoa Bliss Bowl, and Roasted Tomato Basil Bocconcini Pide, along with desserts such as Banoffee with Nolen Gur and Rocky Road Muffins.
Coffee Island has also introduced a loyalty program and a retail product range that includes Cold Brews, Instant Coffee, Iced Tea, and Pour Overs, aiming to extend its reach beyond café visits.
Konstantinos Konstantinopoulos, CEO, Coffee Island, stated, "We are excited to introduce the Coffee Island brand to India. The country's vibrant coffee culture and increasing demand for premium experiences present a compelling opportunity for strategic growth, and we are glad to have partnered with Vita Nova as we debut in this dynamic market. While strategic expansion remains a priority, our core objective is to consistently deliver exceptional coffee quality at affordable prices nationwide. Our vision is to bridge the gap in the Indian café market and foster a European Coffee Culture amongst Indian coffee enthusiasts by providing the exceptional quality and craftsmanship that have made us a globally trusted name over the last 25 years."
The company has outlined plans to open 20 outlets by March 2026 and expand to 250 locations by 2029. The rollout will begin in Delhi NCR, followed by key cities such as Mumbai, Bangalore, and Hyderabad. Coffee Island, in partnership with Vita Nova, also intends to expand into Bhutan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Mauritius, and the Maldives.
Pratyush Kumar Sureka, Founder, Vita Nova, added, "At Vita Nova, we are driven by an unwavering passion for crafting extraordinary culinary experiences. Our partnership with Coffee Island marks a significant milestone, as we introduce an authentic European Coffee Culture to India for the first time. We believe Coffee Island plugs all the gaps currently in the Indian Café Industry with a fun, young and vibrant culture where all are welcome to have meaningful conversations over sumptuous experiences. This strategic collaboration caters to the growing demand for premium coffee experiences among Indian consumers, who are increasingly seeking high-quality and unique offerings.
