Zomato to Lay Off 250 Employees as Hyderabad Customer Support Centre Shuts

Zomato is set to lay off around 250 employees in Hyderabad following changes to its customer support operations, according to reports.

An industry executive said nearly 240 employees could be affected as Zomato restructures its customer support model, which has undergone significant changes over the past six years.

Going forward, customer support operations will function as a single team from Eternal’s Gurugram office. Affected employees will receive their August salary along with four months’ pay, including contractual notice pay and a one-time ex-gratia payment. They will also continue to receive medical insurance and counselling support until March 2027.

Zomato will allow employees to retain their company-issued laptops for personal use and provide support in finding new job opportunities. The move comes months after Zomato laid off around 500 junior-level employees from its associate programme in April 2025.
