Smash Guys Opens in Bangalore, Bringing India’s First True SmashBurger Diner to Life
Smash Guys Opens in Bangalore, Bringing India’s First True SmashBurger Diner to Life

After making a formidable mark on the city’s food scene through a series of sold-out pop-ups and digital drops, Smash Guys is opening the doors to its first-ever outlet—bringing its unapologetically indulgent smash burgers to a permanent home in Indiranagar.

The brand introduces a fresh take on burgers by blending classic American techniques with Indian sensibilities, globally inspired experimentation, and a dine-in format designed for both comfort and community.

Conceived by Nikhil and Abhijit (AB) Gupta, the culinary minds behind The Pizza Bakery and Paris Panini, Smash Guys was born out of a year-long deep dive into global food cultures—and a clear gap in the Indian dining scene for a true gourmet burger experience.

“We wanted to take what we think is the secret sauce to being successful and put it to the test. From scratch. Taking all our learnings from building our previous two brands, we wanted to bring an elevated, old-school American diner experience to the city with Smash Guys, and put it on a path to becoming a 100cr ($12 million) brand,” shared Gupta.

With a strong foundation in product-led F&B ventures, the duo set out to create a concept that prioritises ingredient integrity, culinary technique, and an experience-first approach.

The venture was built transparently and in public view through Abhijit’s YouTube series “Building a ₹100 Cr Burger Brand,” inviting audiences behind the scenes of each business decision, from recipe R&D to interior layouts and team building.

The culinary journey began with Chef Adithya Kidambi, a Le Cordon Bleu-trained chef and co-founder of Mossant Fermentary, whose home “burger kitchen” became a pandemic favourite. Known for his precision-driven approach and deep love for the burger format, Chef Adithya teamed up with Smash Guys to build something truly unique. From sourcing the ideal meat grind to perfecting the Maillard reaction on the flat-top grill, he has been instrumental in crafting a menu that reflects a philosophy rooted in flavour, finesse, and honest craftsmanship. Every element has been obsessively tested and thoughtfully executed, to deliver bold, flavour-forward burgers with minimal fuss and maximum satisfaction.

“Smash Guys was built on the belief that burgers don’t need gimmicks—they need balance. For us, it’s always been about the details—the right sear, the right sauce, the right bite. This menu is the result of months of iteration, collaboration, and a genuine love for the format. It’s honest food made with intent, and we’re proud to finally share it in a space that feels like ours. Our goal was to make every bite worth a repeat,” added Kidambi.

Designed by Studio Camerada, the interiors channel a true American diner vibe, balancing comfort and character with live kitchen counter seating, diner-style booths, community tables, and a casual wine bar that greets guests with the sounds of sizzling patties and energetic pass calls. Every detail reflects the brand’s personality: confident, fun, and focused on substance over flash.

Design-led Dining Restaurant Muze Opens at Khar West in Mumbai
Design-led Dining Restaurant Muze Opens at Khar West in Mumbai

Inside Muze, Khar West’s Bold New Ode to the Roaring 20s
Muze’s interiors capture the daring freedom of the Flapper Girl generation: wrapped in velvet, marble, and gold, while speaking directly to the tastes of today’s experiential diners.

In Khar West, Mumbai, a new address is quietly rewriting the rules of design-led dining. Founded by Gen Z sisters Saloni and Anannya, Muze draws from the heady glamour of the Jazz Age to craft a space that bridges eras.

Conceptualized by boutique studio DesignWorx and helmed creatively by Shaji Arakkel Muze, channels the bold energy of the 1920s while offering an elevated, immersive experience for today’s generation.

Drawing from the liberated charm of the Flapper Girl era, Muze brings a contemporary twist to vintage glamour. Throughout the restaurant, rich Art Deco hues, dramatic geometric forms, and luxurious textures come together to create a lively yet refined atmosphere. Sleek leopards, vibrant parrots, and elegant black swans appear as playful motifs, while classic shades of emerald, gold, and inky black set the stage for a space that feels indulgent yet refreshingly current.

“Muze is about merging the striking elements of Art Deco with a modern, vibrant sensibility,” says Shaji Arakkel, founder of DesignWorx. “We aimed for a space that feels dynamic and contemporary, yet grounded in the bold geometric patterns, luxurious materials, and rich textures of the past. It's a design that’s meant to engage, energize, and invite connection, while remaining unmistakably fresh and relevant.”

Materiality plays a starring role in Muze’s visual story. Dramatic Art Deco-inspired columns wrapped in antique mirror and flowing metallic gold detailing act as sculptural centerpieces, catching light and admiration in equal measure. At the heart of the space, a gold mosaic-tiled bar unfurls beneath a sweeping bulkhead shaped like a flowing ribbon, tying the interiors together with effortless movement and flair.

In the Private Dining Room, a velvet-draped ceiling envelops guests in a plush, theatrical ambiance. Every piece of furniture was intentionally chosen to be unique: rich velvets, warm woods, supple leathers, and gleaming brass coalesce into an eclectic yet harmonious whole, ensuring that each corner of Muze feels thoughtfully curated and full of personality.

Muze is not merely a design homage to a bygone era; it is deeply rooted in Mumbai’s own Art Deco legacy. Inspirations were drawn from the iconic facades of Marine Drive and the Art Deco precincts of South Mumbai, reflected subtly through the symmetry, form, and decorative detailing across the space.

Throughout, curated artifacts and Asian-inspired accents, like animal print wallpapers and handcrafted sculptures, add a layer of global sophistication, referencing the cultural crossroads of the 1920s where East met West. Even the luxurious restroom, with its own seating nook, continues the narrative of indulgence and surprise.

By weaving a historic design language into a dynamic, modern hospitality setting, Muze offers a compelling blueprint for how cultural memory can shape the future of experiential dining.

1932 Trevi, Jaipur: A Celebration of Heritage Launches in Jaipur
1932 Trevi, Jaipur: A Celebration of Heritage Launches in Jaipur

Nestled in the lush embrace of Santha Bagh, 1932 Trevi is more than a restaurant—it is a passage through time, where Italian grandeur meets the soul of Indian heritage.

Inspired by the Maharaja’s travels to Italy in 1932, Trevi is a tribute to his dream of bringing the splendor of Roman artistry and culinary excellence to Jaipur. The newly launched restaurant invites guests into a world where every detail tells a story, every flavour holds a piece of history, and every experience weaves into one beautiful tale.

A Space Where History and Design Converge

Designed by Shantanu Garg, 1932 Trevi’s interiors echo the romance of Italy with the regality of India. The intricate Padma motifs and natural elements weave a narrative of culture and artistry, while the centerpiece—a magnificent fountain reminiscent of Rome’s iconic Trevi—invites guests to partake in the age-old ritual of tossing a coin, symbolizing hope, wishes, and shared moments. “1932 Trevi isn’t just about aesthetics; it’s about creating an immersive space where design and storytelling coexist,” says Shantanu Garg.

An amalgamation of Italian and Indian Flavors

Guided by the Maharaja’s passion for food, 1932 Trevi’s menu brings to us the best of Italian finesse and Indian richness. Each course is a carefully curated experience:
•    Appetizers introduce herbaceous, delicate flavors that set the stage.
•    Mains balance the boldness of Indian spices with the refinement of Italian craftsmanship.
•    Desserts offer notes of sweetness infused with aromatic depth.
•    Cocktails, inspired by gemstones, blend sophistication and surprise, mirroring the opulence of both cultures.

The Food & Beverage Program at 1932 Trevi

1932 Trevi’s menu is an exploration of tradition and innovation, showcasing the vibrancy of Indian ingredients and the depth of Italian culinary philosophy. Signature dishes like the Corn Tempura Cake with Gondhoraj Lemon Gel, the Trevi Fried Chicken with Gribiche Sauce, and the classic Cacio e Pepe pay homage to flavours both familiar and new. The desserts, including the Vanilla and Hibiscus Wild Rice Kheer, add an unexpected yet comforting end to the experience.
The beverage program at 1932 Trevi is equally immersive, featuring handcrafted cocktails that draw inspiration from regional elements married with global techniques. The Trevi Paloma, made with Patron Silver and Plum Mathania Cordial, brings a bright and sour playfulness, while Symphony No. 41 blends Dewar’s 12yo with cherry vinegar and mint for a refreshing yet complex profile. For those who prefer a richer indulgence, the Cat’s Eye, featuring toasted hazelnut aged rum and vegan foam, is a velvety, nutty delight.

A Vision Realized

1932 Trevi stands as a testament to passion, legacy, and the pursuit of beauty. “1932 Trevi isn’t just a place—it’s a dream realized,” shares Namokar. “It’s a space where wishes are made, moments linger, and every detail transports guests to a world of magic and beauty.” Jai, who brought this vision to life, adds, “Building 1932 Trevi was about turning an ambitious dream into reality—a space where tradition meets modernity in perfect harmony.”

The Grammar Rooms Now Open at Khan Market and Gurgaon

The Grammar Room has officially made its debut in Khan Market & 32nd Avenue, Gurgaon this August, adding a fresh chapter to Delhi’s vibrant dining scene.

The six-year-old brand has built a loyal following in the city, with its relaxed vibe, elevated gourmet café-style food, and timeless charm at the glasshouse, Olive, Qutub.

Now TGR (as it is affectionately called), brings two new drops on the same day in an extraordinary feat. It’s all about coffee, cocktails, and conversation in an idyllic day-to-night setting - The Grammar Room(s) pack a punch!

The youngest brand from the Olive Group, helmed by AD Singh, has built an engaged community. Steered by Tanya Bhardwaj, Chief Brand Officer and Co-founder, The Grammar Room now widens its reach in Delhi and Gurgaon and brings the iconic brand to more locations across Delhi-NCR.

TGR brings a fresh vibe to the bustling streets of Khan Market, boasting a diverse menu with a curated coffee and cocktail list.

Opening a café in this iconic part of the city is a strategic move that leverages the area’s prime location. This 48-seater is the place to hit up for a cup of artisanal coffee, innovative cocktails, and sumptuous gourmet food all day. Designed by Tanya Bhardwaj, the café seamlessly blends nostalgia with cosy comfort. While all three outlets across Delhi-NCR are distinct and have their own character, the Khan Market space embodies quaint characteristics with a contemporary chic charm.

“The Grammar Room started as a passion project for me. I wanted a space that was a cool cafe in the day and transitioned to a chic cocktail space at night and appealed to a younger generation. When we set out, there was only meant to be one, but I think we got the balance of chic versus comfortable just right, and it’s grown out of sheer love for the brand, space and its people,” shared Singh by adding that he’s proud to be able to scale it to multiple outlets in Delhi, each with its own character and building to its own communities.

“The Grammar Room is always meant to be your sanctuary- to engage meaningfully with friends or even with yourself over coffee, food, and drink. We are very community-driven and are committed to creating spaces where people can connect, relax, and enjoy the finer things in life,” added Tanya.
