In a year marked by global economic uncertainty and shifting consumer behaviour, Sanjay Dutt’s The Glenwalk has defied industry trends to deliver a stellar performance across Maharashtra. Between April and September 2025, the brand sold 60,000 cases, making it the highest-selling Scotch whisky in the state.
While several international labels struggled to maintain sales momentum, The Glenwalk’s strong numbers underscore its growing popularity and consumer trust driven by its unique positioning as the first Scotch crafted for the Indian palate.
Globally, the whisky market has seen uneven growth. According to the International Wine & Spirits Record (IWSR), Scotch accounted for 65% of total whisky volumes in India’s duty-free segment in 2024, even as domestic whisky consumption declined by 8%. Despite this slowdown, The Glenwalk outperformed long-standing premium competitors, nearly doubling its Maharashtra sales within six months.
The surge comes amid diversification in the global whisky landscape, with Japanese whisky growing 110% and Irish whiskey up 51% in travel retail. Yet, Scotch continues to dominate premium and gifting categories — and within India, The Glenwalk has firmly established itself as a trusted, aspirational brand redefining the country’s Scotch whisky segment.
“The Glenwalk’s adaptability and foresight have been key to its success,” said Mokksh Sani, Founder of Living Liquidz and Mansionz, and Co-founder of Cartel Bros. “The brand has managed to connect deeply with evolving consumer preferences while staying true to the craft and authenticity that define good Scotch.”
Actor Sanjay Dutt, Co-founder of The Glenwalk, added, “The Glenwalk’s strong presence in this channel reflects its alignment with consumer expectations for quality and value. As Indian whisky strengthens its position at home, Glen Walk’s international appeal and steady performance continue to set a benchmark for excellence.”
As the industry continues to navigate trade disruptions, shifting regulations, and changing tastes. With over 60,000 cases sold in the first half of 2025, and rising demand across key markets. The Glenwalk remains committed to delivering exceptional quality, expanding its reach, and leading the new wave of Scotch whisky appreciation with confidence and clarity.
