Restaurant India News: Rohan Pewekar Steps Down as Managing Director of Pizza Hut India

Rohan Pewekar has announced his departure as Managing Director of Pizza Hut at Yum! Brands Indian Subcontinent after over six years with the brand.

Sharing the update on LinkedIn, Pewekar reflected on his journey leading one of the world’s most iconic pizza brands across the Indian subcontinent, expressing gratitude to the leadership at Yum! Brands and his team.

“I’m deeply grateful to Yum! Brands and Shannon Garcia for the trust and opportunity to lead such an iconic brand across the Indian Subcontinent,” he wrote.

During his tenure, Pewekar worked closely with key franchise partners including Devyani International Limited, Sapphire Foods India Limited, Transcom Foods Limited, and Gamma Pizzakraft Lanka, acknowledging their partnership in strengthening Pizza Hut’s presence across the region.

He also thanked restaurant teams and customers for their continued support, noting that the journey had been shaped by collaboration and shared achievements.

“Most importantly, to my wonderful team who made this journey so memorable, thank you for your passion, partnership, and the wonderful send-off. You have always been my real superpower,” he added.

Pewekar did not disclose details about his next role but noted that he is stepping into a new chapter while carrying immense pride in what the team has built together.

Rohan was promoted to the MD of the brand in 2024 when Merrill Pereyra left Pizza Hut. He is an alumnus of  IIM-Calcutta and The Wharton School.

Pizza Hut continues to be one of the largest pizza chains in India, operating through multiple franchise partners across the country and the broader Indian subcontinent.
