Grano69 Beverages, the maker of fast-growing beer brand Proost, has crossed ₹115 crore in revenue in FY25 and achieved EBITDA breakeven, marking a major milestone for the company. This represents a robust 174% jump from last year’s ₹42 crore, alongside a sharp surge in volumes from 2.5 lakh cases in FY24 to 8 lakh cases in FY25.
Proost’s growth has been driven by a clear operating strategy focused on making the brand available, visible, cold, and fast-moving (AVCV) across all points of sale. Years of building distribution depth laid a strong foundation of consistent demand and retailer confidence. Enhanced on-ground execution, disciplined cost control, a lean organisational structure, and efficient procurement further supported margin improvement.
Proost Strong Beer emerged as the key growth engine during the year. The brand expanded to six states: Delhi, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, Karnataka and Jharkhand—while also strengthening its share in core markets. With a tightly curated product portfolio, the company is now gearing up to launch new offerings to further reinforce its presence.
Reflecting on this milestone, Tarun Bhargava, CEO and Co-Founder of Proost Beer, said, “Growing from around 42 crores in FY24 to 115 crores in FY25 and turning EBITDA-Breakeven is a validating moment for the team. It proves that a beer brand in India can be built sustainably, with discipline and capital efficiency, without burning irrational amounts of cash. For us, this milestone represents years of learning, pivots, setbacks, and belief. And honestly, it still feels like day one.”
Bhargava added that three decisions were instrumental in reaching breakeven; doubling down on Proost Strong as the hero product, staying primarily focused on the off-trade channel where margins are structurally stronger, and running a lean organization with marketing spends under 2% of revenue. He also highlighted how simplifying SKUs, negotiating better input costs, and improving sales productivity helped strengthen contribution margins and operational efficiency.
Grano69 Beverages plans to expand into new markets while strengthening penetration and going deeper in existing high-potential states. The company aims to broaden its product portfolio through new innovations, increase consumer-led brand activations, and continue building a modern, aspirational identity for Proost.
