Sanjay Anand MBE is the Chairman and Founder of Madhu’s, one of the UK’s most respected South
Asian hospitality brands. He co-founded Madhu’s with his brother, Sanjeev Anand, in 1980 at
just 17 years old, driven by a passion for authentic Indian hospitality and a vision to
bring exceptional Punjabi cuisine with a nod to his Kenyan heritage to the British dining
scene.
Over the past four decades, Sanjay Anand has transformed Madhu’s from a single family-run
restaurant into an internationally recognised hospitality group, celebrated for its
award-winning restaurants, luxury catering, and partnerships with some of the world’s
leading hotels and venues. Under his leadership, Madhu’s has become synonymous with
excellence, hosting royalty, world leaders, celebrities, and prestigious global events.
In 2007, Sanjay Anand was awarded an MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) by
Queen Elizabeth II in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the hospitality
industry and community service.
