Gautam Munjal is a dynamic entrepreneur and design-forward thinker who is redefining the way India experiences hospitality. As the Founder of Minimalist Hotels, Gautam has pioneered the concept of poshtels in India—a blend of boutique hotel comfort and hostel-style community living—crafted for modern, experience-seeking travellers. Under his vision, Minimalist Hotels has expanded across culturally rich destinations like Delhi, Goa, Varanasi, and Himachal.
Gautam is also the Founder of Fika Coffee Co., a lifestyle café brand inspired by the Scandinavian ritual of pausing for coffee and connection. With locations in key travel hubs, Fika has become a go-to for Gen Z and Millennials who value design, calm, and community.
Prior to his entrepreneurial journey, Gautam held strategic business development roles at OYO across Delhi, Mumbai, and Pune. He was instrumental in launching the OYO Townhouse concept as part of the central leadership team. Earlier, he also ventured into real estate and founded a creative marketing firm during his college years.
His poshtel concept was named among the Top 10 Hotel Concepts Worldwide by The Guardian in 2018. In 2022, he was recognised by the Indian Achievers’ Forum for his contributions to innovation in hospitality.
Gautam holds a Bachelor of Arts in Law (Honours) from Punjab University. With a strong eye for design, a deep passion for community-led travel, and an instinct for building lifestyle-driven experiences, he continues to shape the future of hospitality in India.
