A Padma Shri awardee, a real estate entrepreneur, a connoisseur of art, craft and other creative pursuits—Mr. Harshavardhan Neotia juggles many hats with equal elan.
As Chairman of Ambuja Neotia Group, he operates across the spectrum of the Real Estate industry, gifting Kolkata and eastern India with landmark properties ranging from residential to retail, from hospitals to hotels, from educational institutions to smart workplaces.
A pioneer in India’s social housing sector Mr. Neotia has been conferred with the Padma Shri by the Hon’ble President of India in 1999.
Having attended La Martiniere for Boys, Kolkata for his school education, he obtained B. Com (Hons.) degree from St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata & went on to complete the Owner President Management Programme (OPM) from the Harvard Business School, USA. He is also a recipient of YPO Legacy of Honour Award in 2005. He was recently conferred the D.Litt. (Honoris Causa) by the Vidyasagar University, West Bengal.
Mr. Neotia is the current president of AIMA and past president of FICCI. He is also a member of several distinguished institutions like India Brand Equity Foundation Trust established by the Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Govt. of India, the Governing Council of the India Design Council (IDC) and the Board of Trustees for Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts, New Delhi and Chairman of National Institute of Technical Teachers' Training & Research (NITTTR), Kolkata.
He heads Jnana Pravaha, a Centre for Cultural Studies and Research in Varanasi, as its chairman and also serves as the Honorary Consul of Israel in West Bengal.
