The Fern Hotels & Resorts has launched The Fern Riverview Resort Chiplun, Series by Marriott, as hospitality operators continue expanding into emerging leisure destinations across Maharashtra.
Located in Chiplun in the Konkan region, the new property marks another addition to The Fern’s growing portfolio in western India. The resort has been developed to cater to both leisure and business travellers, with a focus on family travel, corporate offsites, and small-format social events.
The property features 37 rooms across multiple categories along with dining and event facilities. The resort’s all-day dining venue, Riverview Café, offers Indian, regional, and international cuisine, including dishes inspired by Konkan coastal flavours. The hotel also includes dedicated meeting and event spaces aimed at corporate and social gatherings.
The launch reflects a broader hospitality trend where hotel brands are increasing investments in secondary leisure destinations driven by rising domestic travel demand and improved road connectivity.
Suhail Kannampilly, Managing Director, The Fern Hotels & Resorts, said, “The Konkan region is steadily gaining recognition as one of Maharashtra’s emerging leisure destinations, attracting travellers with its untouched natural beauty, scenic riverfront landscapes, lush greenery, and tranquil coastal charm. With the launch of The Fern Riverview Resort Chiplun, Series by Marriott, we continue to strengthen our presence in high-growth destinations that offer immersive and experience-led stays.”
The resort is located approximately 6 km from Chiplun Railway Station and 13 km from Chiplun Bus Stand. It also has road connectivity to major cities, situated around 225 km from Pune and 250 km from Mumbai, making it accessible for regional weekend and short-stay travel.
As part of the Series by Marriott portfolio, guests staying at the property will also have access to the Marriott Bonvoy loyalty programme, reflecting the growing role of loyalty-led customer retention strategies in India’s hospitality sector.
Industry analysts note that leisure-focused destinations across the Konkan belt are witnessing increasing hotel development activity as hospitality brands seek to capitalise on domestic tourism growth and rising demand for experience-led travel options outside metro cities.
