
Bandra has a new culinary addition with Dough & Joe, a pizza- and coffee-focused café that aims to bring a relaxed, European-inspired atmosphere to one of Mumbai’s busiest neighbourhoods. Located on Hill Road, the space is designed to encourage guests to slow down and enjoy simple, well-crafted food. The concept takes its name from its core offerings: Dough for its slow-fermented, handcrafted pizzas, and Joe for the coffee that forms the heart of the menu. Together, they reflect the café’s emphasis on warmth, community, and thoughtful craftsmanship.
Dough & Joe is founded by husband-wife duo Priyanka and Khushal Kotak, who were inspired by their two-year-old son, Vansh, and his growing interest in food. What started as a casual idea at their kitchen table has grown into a 2,400 sq. ft. neighbourhood café designed for long conversations, relaxed date nights, and clean, honest flavours.
The interiors, conceptualised by Natasha & Parzan of Studio 6158, bring together vintage Italian warmth and contemporary Mumbai character. “The brief was simple, build a space that feels personal. We wanted each detail to spark emotion. The Vespa, the mugs, the textures, they’re not props, they’re pieces of a story,” says Natasha.
The menu brings together slow-fermented pizzas, small-batch pastas, and comforting starters, paired with a specialty coffee programme crafted to stand alongside Mumbai’s top cafés. Highlights include the Thecha Prawns Pizza, Bombay Kheema Pizza, Ghee Roast Ravioli, and a lineup of signature coffees such as Joe’s Special Vietnamese, Nutella Iced Latte, Cream Orange Soda, and Butterfly Lychee Matcha. Each dish and drink reflects a contemporary yet uncomplicated approach, designed for sharing and easy indulgence. Positioned as a non-alcoholic, food-led community concept, Dough & Joe marks the first of several spaces the founders plan to roll out across multiple cities.

We didn’t want to compete with the scene; we wanted to add to it in our own way. Dough & Joe is really an extension of our home; a place where everything is made with intention, from our slow-fermented dough to our hand-brewed coffee. We wanted to build a space that feels warm, personal, and familiar.”
