Restaurant India News: Bikaji Foods to Strengthen US Presence with $5 Lakh Capital Infusion

India’s leading snack manufacturer, Bikaji Foods International Limited, has announced a fresh investment of five lakh dollars in its US subsidiary, Bikaji Foods International USA Corp. The decision follows the Board’s approval of an additional capital infusion aimed at strengthening the company’s global operations.

Through this investment, Bikaji Foods plans to enhance its distribution network in the United States, focusing on expanding reach and improving accessibility for customers. The US arm of Bikaji Foods recorded a turnover of $17,69,792 in FY25. The company will subscribe to 50,000 additional common stocks of its American subsidiary, amounting to a total of $5,00,000.

Mirroring its operations in India, Bikaji Foods International USA Corp is engaged in trading a range of food and related products, including bhujia, namkeen, sweets, frozen food, and other snack varieties.

In addition to the US investment, Bikaji’s Board has approved the execution of a Rs 4 crore loan agreement with Petunt Food Processors Private Limited (PFPPL). The company will also acquire 35,98,998 equity shares in PFPPL, making it a wholly-owned subsidiary.

PFPPL operates in food manufacturing and processing, focusing on the production, refining, and packaging of sweets and namkeen, along with other food products.

Bikaji Foods’ current product mix reflects its strong presence in the traditional snack segment. Ethnic snacks account for 68.1 percent of its revenue, followed by packaged sweets at 13.2 percent, western snacks at 8.5 percent, papad at 5.9 percent, and other products at 4.3 percent. Ratan Agarwal, Chairman and Founder, Bikaji Foods, stated,  “This balanced mix ensures resilience across different consumer preferences and seasonal variations.”

The recent developments highlight Bikaji’s efforts to scale both its international footprint and domestic manufacturing capacity, reinforcing its position in the competitive packaged food industry.
