Amelia, a newly opened restaurant in Bandra, Mumbai, is redefining dining with its blend of European-inspired cuisine and a contemporary approach. Founded by Geeta Amin, alongside investor Deepak Amin and co-founder Timanshu Mokal, Amelia aims to create a space where dining meets art and storytelling, offering an experience beyond food.
“The name 'Amelia' resonated with us instantly. It is elegant, playful, and full of character, much like Picasso's muse. We wanted a name that captured the essence of our restaurant: a place where sophistication meets fun. 'Amelia' does just that. It is a name that reflects our vision: a timeless classic with a modern twist,” said Geeta Amin, Promoter and Co-Founder of Amelia.
The menu at Amelia is a reinterpretation of French and Italian culinary traditions for Indian tastes, with a focus on fresh, high-quality ingredients. Highlights include dishes like the Poached Pear Salad, Burrata and Truffle Ravioli, and New Zealand Lamb Rack. Signature offerings such as Amelia’s Gambas Cube and Pistachio Decadence showcase a balance of flavors and textures.
The pizza selection is particularly unique, with each creation named after one of Picasso’s muses. Sylvette’s Classic, Dora’s Truffle Delight, and Jacqueline’s Spicy Kick stand out as signature options, pairing bold flavors with artistic inspiration.
“The menu at Amelia is a celebration of European cuisine, reimagined for the Indian palate. We've carefully curated a selection of dishes that showcase the best of French and Italian flavours, infused with our signature touch,” said Co-Founder Timanshu Mokal.
The cocktail program complements the dining experience, offering a European-inspired selection of drinks. From whisky-based Quarto to the pineapple-infused Pineapple Pits and gin-forward Creation of Adam, the menu explores diverse flavor profiles. For non-alcoholic options, beverages like Moldovian Hangover Cure and We Believe in Elves provide unique choices.
The interiors are a blend of post-modern European elegance and vibrant contemporary design. Inspired by Italian hospitality, the space features open communal areas, a central bar, and curated art installations. Attention to detail extends to hand-painted ceiling lights and the interplay of natural light throughout the day, creating an inviting yet sophisticated atmosphere.
Geeta said, “We wanted to create a space that's both elegant and inviting, a place where people can relax, connect, and indulge. The interior design is inspired by European art and architecture, with a modern twist. We believe that Amelia is not just a restaurant, but a destination.”
Amelia is positioned as a venue for various occasions, from intimate dinners to social gatherings, blending European culinary traditions with a focus on the Indian market's evolving dining preferences.
